Mr. Michael Spencer

Mr. Spencer began his teaching career at Tavares Middle School in 2007, where he served as the Physical Education Teacher, Boys’ Basketball Coach, and Athletic Director while taking on any and all teacher leadership opportunities including department chairperson and PBIS Coach.  He was named the TMS Teacher of the Year in 2015.  After spending 9 years at Tavares Middle School, Mr. Spencer continued his path towards administration by accepting a new position as an Instructional Dean at Eustis Middle School in the Fall of 2015.  He loved his time at EMS and cherished all of the positive relationships his was able to build while he was there.  At the end of the 2015-2016 school year, he was named an assistant principal at South Lake High School where he spent the next 6 years continuing to grow and develop as a leader.  Mr. Spencer helped South Lake High School improve in all 10 school grade components during his time there. 

Mr. Spencer believes all students can learn and that having high expectations for students and a growth mindset for learning will help his school and community thrive.   He also values collaboration and believes that students and staff working together is key for school improvement.  He strives to afford all students opportunities to read, write, think, and talk in all of their classes, every single day.

Mr. Spencer is honored and thrilled to lead Eustis Middle School as their proud principal.  Go Mustangs!
