School Advisory Council

School Advisory Council (SAC)
The SAC is an elected committee made up of parents, staff, the principal, and business and community members who work together as an advisory committee for the school. The SAC is the school committee that deals with issues relating to school improvement. The role of the parent is to be a voice for other parents, keep parents informed and get their opinions, report to the PTO about school improvement activities and become knowledgeable about the operation of the school.

School Improvement
Florida's system of School Improvement and Accountability was born out of the 1991 Florida Legislature and is based on achieving the state's education priorities and student performance standards. Over the years, we have carried out the legislation's intent to return the responsibility for education to those closest to the students - the school, teachers, parents, and the community. Our system of improvement and accountability assesses student performance, identifies which students are not making adequate progress towards state standards, and institutes appropriate measures for enforcing improvement. In 2002, the federal No Child Left Behind Act demands that all students in all demographic sub-groups meet high standards. Now, we adhere to Race to the Top. The main work of the SAC in this regard revolves around the School Improvement Plan (SIP).

School Public Accountability Report
The School Public Accountability Report contains several types of data (indicators) designed to inform parents and the general public about the progress of Florida's public schools. This report meets the public reporting requirements of the federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) educational funding program and includes certain additional information of interest on the status of Florida's schools. The SAC for Eustis Middle School meets monthly.  All meetings are held at 4:00pm in the front office conference room.
