If you hear loud noises and see lots of police officers and deputies at LifePointe Church and Umatilla Middle School this week, don’t be alarmed! The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is conducting active assailant training for all School Resource Deputies and Officers. The sessions will be held on Thursday, August 6, at LifePointe Church, 3551 E Orange Ave. in Eustis, and on Friday, August 7, at Umatilla Middle School, 305 E Lake Street in Umatilla. The interactive training will include simulated gunfire and student actors to create real-life scenarios.
